Swell: 4-6ft+ (1.30-1.60m+) chest to shoulder height with bigger sets at times.

Wind: NW-WNW early and WSW to SW during the day

High Tide: 6:01pm - 1.45m

A jump in swell but a drop in cleanliness has created a turbulent ocean… but one with some options for anyone who is keen.

Smiths has a few decent sized sets creating peaks across the beach. There will be plenty of action out the back for advanced level surfers looking to do some high performance surfing. Lower level crew will find it best on the inside to avoid getting cleaned up by the sets.

The open beaches will be really solid and will be very hard work (even for the elite) today. Big close-out sets, copious amounts of water movement and not a lot of quality.

The Cat Bay area will be fairly unorganised but will become semi protected later in the day.

This board’s got a low entry rocker and a performance-style tail, making it a great all-rounder for everyday surf. It’s perfect if you’re not after a super high-performance ride but still want something that can handle a variety of conditions. It grovels well in smaller surf, thanks to a bit of extra volume through the tail, and the single to double concave adds some nice speed and flow. The flyer helps trim down the tail width, giving you a bit more release and freedom through your turns.

Recommended for intermediate to advanced surfers riding waves anywhere from waist high up to well overhead.

THE DARREN

NXT

Evolved from the 3rd GEAR the NXT is the latest high performance board in Ringa’s range and it’s a banger! Ridden by a lot of our competitive team riders and any good surfers looking for that extra performance pop in their board.

The outline has an even curve through to a hip just above the fins. The rocker is medium low through the entry to get into waves and pick up speed quickly. However the tail rocker has plenty of curve for turning control and responsiveness. Mid to full rails help maintain performance whilst allowing some forgiveness.

Suited to intermediate to advanced surfers looking for an all-round board, the NXT will perform in anything from 2-6ft beachies and reefs.
