SURF REPORT

Friday 9/05/2025

Surf: 4-5ft (1.30m-1.60m) chest to head height.

Wind: NW tending WSW during the day.

High Tide: 9:31am - 1.30m

Low Tide: 2:31pm - 0.84m

Water temp: 17 Degrees

A drop in swell and wind from yesterday is making a much nicer day with more user-friendly conditions. Still plenty of size though so keep an eye on the horizon.

The regional school surfing titles are on at smiths again today so most of the beach could be off-limits until mid-afternoon. Smiths does have a few peaks in the middle of the beach but the pre-comp pack is thick. Lower level surfers will still have some fun on the inside across the day.

The open beaches will be slightly more manageable than yesterday but will still be really tricky with cross-to-onshore winds, lots of water moving and some big close-outs.

The Cat Bay area will be an option later in the day and will offer more protected waves during the afternoon.

Have a great day! :)
